Multidisciplinary Approach to Migraine Patients
From the Official Colleges of Pharmacists of the Canary Islands, in collaboration with the Canarian Society of Neurology (Cane sugar), we invite you to participate in the training day «Multidisciplinary Approach to the Migraine Patient», which will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at our college headquarters, of 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
This journey will feature the participation of neurologists, primary care physicians, pharmacists, and patients, and will address joint strategies to improve migraine patient care and detect cases of inadequate doses or regimens. of triptans and analgesics, which can lead to medication overuse headache (MOH).
During the day there will be presented Campaign «Do you suffer from migraines? that will be distributed from pharmacies and whose materials you will receive for implementation.

PROGRAM
Accreditation requested from the Canary Islands Commission for Continuing Education of Health Professions.
OBJECTIVES
Update and reinforce the knowledge of the community pharmacist in the approach to migraine, to improve comprehensive patient care for migraines in our community, with special attention to the rational use of analgesics and migraine-specific medications.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
- Understanding the pathophysiology of migraine and the importance of an accurate diagnosis.
- Update knowledge on available treatments and non-pharmacological measures.
- Analyze real clinical cases that allow applying acquired knowledge to practical situations.
- Identify the role of the community pharmacist in caring for people with migraine, including health education, treatment monitoring, and referral to a physician when necessary.
- Promote multidisciplinary coordination between community pharmacy, primary care, and specialized care.
REGISTRATION
- The registration deadline is October 26, 2025
- In the case of free training activities, the COFLP reserves the right to charge a penalty of €10 for non-attendance without sufficient prior cancellation to cover the spot that another registered professional might require. Cancellations for this course, due to the limited number of spots, must be communicated in writing to the email address: desarrollopro@coflaspalmas.es with at least 5 days' notice before the start of the course to be eligible for a refund.
