In accordance with Law 19/2013, of December 9, on Transparency, Public Access to Information and Good Governance, the Official College of Pharmacists of Las Palmas makes this portal available to citizens in order to publicize its activity, in accordance with the general principles established in said Law regarding active publicity and in relation to the development of its activities within the framework of the public functions assigned to it.

Professional associations are public law corporations, protected by law and recognized by the State, with their own legal personality and full capacity to fulfill their objectives (Article 1.1 of Law 2/1974, of February 13, on Professional Associations).

Regarding their legal nature, we can classify them as mixed entities, as they combine the performance of public functions with functions under private law within the framework of pharmaceutical activity regulation.
In this context, the Official College of Pharmacists is subject to the Transparency Law due to its public functions, among which we can highlight the regulation of professional practice, the control of compliance with ethical standards, or the exercise of sanctioning powers.
Likewise, the College is the official body that compulsorily brings together, as provided for by law and statute, all healthcare professionals with a degree in pharmacy who carry out, among other functions, activities in the areas of patient care, research, teaching, clinical management, prevention, and pharmaceutical information and education, in both the public and private sectors.

The citizens have the right to complain to the Commissioner of Transparency In the event that the applicant is not granted access to the requested information from the College. What is the procedure for filing a claim with the Commissioner?
