Innovation, patents, and regulation in the healthcare sector
The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and the Canary Foundation for Science and Technology Park (FCPCT) registrations are open for the fifth edition of Patents Week by ULPGC, pioneering event in Spain on industrial property, innovation, and knowledge transfer, to be held from November 4 to 6 of 2025 in the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium.
Under the slogan «Protection, Regulation, and Innovation: The Challenges of Health and Biotechnology», the 2025 edition will focus on protecting quality research and innovation challenges in the healthcare and biotechnology fields, with special attention to the regulation of medical devices and software, as well as the challenges of artificial intelligence in the clinical environment.
The program will include presentations, discussion panels, and training sessions on the protection of R&D results, regulatory requirements, clinical validation, market access, coordination with agencies, and European funding for sector startups.
In addition, the dynamic of networking R&D&I First Dates, which will facilitate meetings between researchers, startups, companies, and industry professionals to foster collaborations and innovative solutions with economic and social impact.
