We invite you on the March 17, 2026, of 09:30 AM to 11:00 AM, to the SEFAC Journey: Clinical Approach from Community Pharmacy: Three Practical Cases Based on Updated Clinical Guidelines and Protocols, organized by the Official College of Pharmacists of Las Palmas and the Spanish Society of Clinical, Family and Community Pharmacy (SEFAC).

SPEAKERS


 

Silvia Lara Afonso Trujillo:

Community pharmacist with experience in cardiovascular risk, adherence, and health education. Affiliated with SEFAC Canarias scientific and training activities.

Mónica Hathiramani Sánchez:

Community pharmacist specializing in pharmaceutical care, pharmacotherapeutic follow-up, and rational drug use. Participates in scientific and educational activities of SEFAC Canarias.

Elena María Angulo Moreno:

Community pharmacist with experience in chronic pain, medication-related problems, and health education. Affiliated with SEFAC Canarias and vice president of its Board of Directors.

 


PROGRAM

OBJECTIVES


 

  • GENERAL

Update and strengthen the clinical competencies of community pharmacists for the protocolized approach, based on clinical guidelines, to the deprescription of benzodiazepines, the management and monitoring of arterial hypertension, and the management of chronic pain, through the analysis of clinical cases applied to community pharmacy.

 

 

  • SPECIFICS
      1. Identify situations of inappropriate or prolonged use of benzodiazepines and propose safe deprescribing interventions from community pharmacies.
      2. Apply recommendations from current clinical guidelines in the follow-up and management of patients with arterial hypertension.
      3. Recognize medication-related problems in patients with chronic pain and propose follow-up and health education interventions.
      4. Integrate pharmaceutical intervention methodologies based on updated clinical protocols.
      5. To understand the function of the Spanish Society of Family and Community Pharmacy (SEFAC) and the importance of its delegation in the Canary Islands for the professional development of community pharmacists.
