The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, names the Canary Islander Carolina Darias San Sebastián as Minister of Health, replacing Salvador Illa.
The Gran Canarian Carolina Darias has shared pandemic management with the outgoing minister since her position as Minister of Territorial Policy and Public Function, which has also allowed her to meet all the health authorities of the Autonomous Communities as well as their presidents.
Carolina Darias San Sebastián (Las Palmas, 1965) holds a law degree and is part of the Higher Corps of Administrators of the Public Administration in the Canary Islands. She has served, among other positions, as Government Delegate in the Canary Islands, President of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, and Minister of Economy of the Canarian Executive.
