The General Council of Pharmaceutical Colleges, in collaboration with the Spanish Society of Diabetes and the Spanish Diabetes Federation, has organized the training session “Patient Support for Diabetes from the Pharmacy: Keys to Comprehensive Care”, which will be held next Tuesday, December 9, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM (Canary Islands time).
This session will offer pharmacists a clear and accessible overview of essential clinical aspects of diabetes, its progression, and therapeutic management, in addition to practical tools that will enable them to provide more personalized care and improve comprehensive patient support.
It is part of the project “School with Patients”, part of the Social Strategy of the Pharmaceutical Profession, whose purpose is to foster a more active, empowered, and co-responsible patient model in managing their illness, using education and training as key tools to promote self-care and informed decision-making.
OBJECTIVES
- To clearly and accessibly understand the essential clinical aspects of diabetes, its progression, and its therapeutic management.
- To raise awareness of the role of community pharmacies in the monitoring, support, and education of patients with diabetes, promoting therapeutic adherence and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Identify the real needs of people with diabetes and the areas where the pharmacy can provide direct, continuous, and value-added support.
