Patient Care for COPD: Towards a Preventive and Sustainable Approach from Community Pharmacy

The next day February 24, of 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM (Canary Islands time), the General Council of Pharmacists, at the initiative of the National Professional Representatives for Clinical Analysts and Food Pharmacists, will hold the training session called “COPD Patient Care: Towards a Preventive and Sustainable Approach from Community Pharmacy".

OBJECTIVES

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) will be addressed as a heterogeneous disease characterized by the presence of persistent respiratory symptoms and airflow limitation.

It manifests with chronic cough, expectoration, and/or dyspnea, with pulmonary and extrapulmonary involvement, and is frequently associated with people with comorbidities.

The main risk factor is smoking, although other factors such as environmental pollution also play a role.

The two main objectives of this webinar are to update pharmacists' knowledge on COPD, actions for clinical management, and environmental sustainability in respiratory health, in addition to promoting the pharmacist's role as a health educator for COPD patients.
