The Health Promotion Service of the Directorate General of Public Health, belonging to the Canary Islands Health Service, invites you to the “Wellness Dialogues: Connecting Health, Ethics, and Prosperity” and the “VII Regional Meeting of Health-Promoting Islands and Municipalities” that will take place in the Municipal Auditorium of La Oliva on November 12, 13, and 14, 2025.
Both events, along with the Health Fair, are part of the Canary Strategy “Islands and Municipalities Promoting Health” (ECIMPS), which is jointly developed by the Directorate General of Public Health, the Canary Federation of Municipalities (FECAM), and the Canary Federation of Islands (FECAI).
This meeting aims to highlight the cross-sectoral and inter-institutional work undertaken by city councils, health centers, educational institutions, and other entities that play a key role in health promotion due to their proximity to citizens.
In this edition, accompanied by some of the most outstanding community experiences in this area, experts will gather under the slogan:
“Health in the Canary Islands from Childhood, Adolescence, Families, and the Community”,

General Objective
- Make intersectoral and interinstitutional work visible and promote it in Health Promotion.
Specific Objectives
- Make intersectoral and interinstitutional work visible at the socio-political level as a technical professional.
- Promote ethical analysis of child and adolescent violence, through the «Wellness Dialogues: Connecting Health, Ethics, and Prosperity» space, as one of the central issues to be addressed at the event.
- Gather health experts to share and discuss outstanding community experiences in the field of health in the Canary Islands, focusing on childhood, adolescence, families, and the community.
- Encourage and promote the participation of stakeholders, local and regional entities in events, such as the Directorate General of Public Health, FECAM, and FECAI), to strengthen the Canary Strategy «Health-Promoting Islands and Municipalities» (ECIMPS)
Operational Objectives
- Present this annual Regional Meeting dynamic.
- To know adhesion processes of town halls and city councils that are members or in the process of becoming members.
- Present / Update National Health Promotion and Prevention Strategy.
- Present / update the project Canarian Strategy for Health Promotion «Health Promoting Islands and Municipalities».
- Celebrate annually a Plenary Session of the Canary Network “Islands and Municipalities Promoting Health.”.
- Establish and grant A regional Institutional Distinction «CANARIAS PROMUEVE SALUD» to highlight any Health Promotion plan, program, or action that is replicable or feasible to develop in another island or municipal context, thereby creating conditions for sustainability.
