On July 12th, the Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands Government included glucose monitoring systems in its services for people with type 2 diabetes who meet a series of requirements. This device has allowed, on the one hand, a reduction in the number and duration of hypoglycemic episodes and an improvement in metabolic control, while also being cost-effective for the healthcare system by reducing spending on glucose test strips. On the other hand, it leads to greater satisfaction with treatment and an improvement in patients' quality of life.
