MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH TO A SILENT PATHOLOGY: CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE”.
HEALTH CAMPAIGN
“Prevention and Pharmaceutical Action in Chronic Kidney Disease from Community Pharmacy” with the sponsorship of VIFOR FMC RENAL PHARMA ESPAÑA and BOEHRINGER INGELHEIM ESPAÑA S.A.
OBJECTIVES
During this session, we will address a silent disease, Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), characterized by the progressive and irreversible deterioration of the kidneys, leading to a gradual loss of kidney function. Its prevalence is increasing in high-risk populations. Early detection allows for the adoption of fundamental therapeutic strategies to slow disease progression, preserve kidney function, delay the need for renal replacement therapy, and reduce the occurrence of cardiovascular and metabolic complications.
Therefore, a multidisciplinary approach is necessary in which healthcare professionals and the patient themselves are aware of and understand the importance of early detection.
The main objectives of this webinar are to update community pharmacists“ knowledge on relevant aspects of CKD and the importance of early detection, as well as to provide them with health education recommendations to raise public awareness about this important public health issue from the pharmacy, in collaboration with the SEN and ”School with Patients.".
