
The Canarian Association of Pulmonology and Thoracic Surgery has organized the XXXIX Regional Congress NEUMOCAN, putting all our effort into creating an appealing, diverse, and, as always, multidisciplinary program. It will feature expert speakers from both within and outside the Canary Islands, with whom various aspects of respiratory pathology will be debated.
The scientific program will be comprised of fourteen tables dedicated to common pathologies such as:
- Bronchial asthma, with special emphasis on treatment with monoclonal antibodies.
- EPOC, the workhorse of pulmonology's day-to-day.
- Cystic fibrosis.
- Interrelationship between respiratory pathologies and gestation.
Medical-surgical tables will also be included. multidisciplinary, notably mediastinal staging in lung cancer and lung transplantation, as well as specifically surgical sessions such as the management of lung metastases or sublobar resections. In the field of Respiratory Physiotherapy and Nursing, we will focus on the care of surgical patients undergoing thoracic surgery, the management of patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, and the multidisciplinary approach to patients with respiratory pathology.
In an era of unprecedented transformation, a topic of great current relevance to clinical practice will be addressed: Artificial Intelligence applied to Pneumology and Thoracic Surgery, oriented towards improving the diagnosis, treatment, and comprehensive management of respiratory diseases.
