RECERTIFICATION

In recent years, the General Council of Official Colleges of Pharmacists (CGCOF) has promoted the implementation of a Continuing Professional Development system in the field of the Pharmaceutical Profession, with a registration and certification procedure, called Continuing Recertification for Pharmacists (RCP).

This voluntary professional certification system seeks guarantee the population that pharmacists are competent professionals who periodically update their knowledge and pharmaceutical practices and act in accordance with the ethical standards and defined standards for the practice of the profession. Their main objective is the periodic recognition of the professional, training, and research activity of each pharmacist in their area of practice.

From the College, we consider it fundamental for the future of the profession that pharmacists update their knowledge and skills following the guidelines of Continuing Professional Development. In this way, we will be better prepared to face new opportunities and challenges in all areas of our professional practice.

Minimum requirements

Deontology and professionalism: Accept the code of ethics and the lack of firm regulatory sanctions

Professional activities: Get at least 25 points

Training

• Get at least 20 points, of which at least 17 must be Continuing Education credits
• Complete 7 continuing education activities during the evaluation period
• Complete continuing education activities for at least 3 years of the evaluated period
